5 K Fun Run/Walk Information
Date: Sunday, September 19, 2010
Time: Approximately 9 a.m.
Location: Pre- and post-race activities will be held at Sandpoint City Beach.
Course
- Start at City Beach in Sandpoint.
- Continue on Bridge Street and turn left on 1st Avenue.
- Continue on bike path.
- Turn around is Dog Beach just before reaching the Long Bridge
- Return to City Beach on same path.

Race limited to first 100 registrants. Last day to register is Saturday, September 18th by 7 pm PST. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION!
The 5K Run is not timed and no awards are presented.
Food and Drink
Water/sports drink stations will be provided approximately every 1-2 miles. Light food and beverages will be provided to participants at the start/finish area.
Refunds
Registrations are nonrefundable and nontransferable after midnight, August 18th, 2010. Registrations are 100% refundable until midnight PST on August 18th.

Course Time Limit
Although the 5K Fun Run/Walk is not timed, it has the same time restrictions as the half marathon and 10K races. The course will close on a rolling schedule, with the finish line closing at 12:30 p.m.
Baggage Check
There will be a baggage check near the starting line. Participants will be provided a small plastic bag in which to place their belongings. Checked bags will be marked with the participants’ bib number and stored for retrieval after the race. All checked baggage must be retrieved by 1 p.m.
Dogs, Strollers, and Headphones
The City of Sandpoint has a rule against dogs in city parks. Therefore, all dogs are strictly banned from the event, including the pre- and post-race activities. No strollers are allowed on the course during the event due to the narrowness of the running path and safety concerns. Headphones are not encouraged, but if you do decide to use them, please make sure to keep the volume at a low level for you to hear other runners and instructions from course officials (especially at traffic intersections). All runners are expected to practice proper running etiquette. Our hope is that all participants have a safe and enjoyable experience.
