10 K Information 
Date: Sunday, September 19th, 2010
Time: Approximately 8:45 am
Location: Pre- and post-race activities will be held at Sandpoint City Beach.
Course
- Start at City Beach in Sandpoint and cross Bridge Street
- Continue on Bridge Street and turn left on 1st Avenue
- Continue on bike path past Dog Beach and across the Long Bridge
- Turn around is just south of the Long Bridge
- Return to City Beach on same path

Registration
Register online or by mail, fax, or email.
Race is limited to first 300 registrants. Last day to register is Saturday, September 18th by 7 pm PST.
Runner Rewards
All registered 10K participants will receive a cotton short sleeve t-shirt at packet pickup. Medals will be awarded to the top three chip time finishers in each gender age group. The medals will be presented at the awards ceremony following the race.
The age categories for both male and female participants are as follows:
under 19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64,
65-69, 70+
The 10K race is a timed event. Participants will receive their timing chips at packet pickup on Saturday, September 18th or the morning of Sunday, September 19th. The timing chips are imbedded in the race bib and are disposable and do not need to be returned.
Free massages will be provided at the finish line based on availability. Tips are suggested, encouraged, and appreciated.
Food and Drink
Water/sports drink stations will be provided approximately every 1-2 miles. Light food and beverages will be provided to participants at the start/finish line area.
Refunds
Registrations are nonrefundable and nontransferable after midnight, August 18th, 2010. Registrations are 100% refundable until midnight on August 18th.

Course Time Limit
The time limit is approximately four hours for the half marathon, 10K, and 5K. The course will close on a rolling schedule, with the finish line closing at 12:30 p.m.
Baggage Check
There will be a baggage check near the starting line. Participants will be provided a small plastic bag in which to place their belongings. Checked bags will be marked with the participants’ bib number and stores for retrieval after the race. All checked baggage must be retrieved by 1:30 pm.
Dogs, Strollers, and Headphones
The City of Sandpoint has a rule against dogs in city parks. Therefore, all dogs are strictly banned from the event, including the pre- and post-race activities. No strollers are allowed on the course during the event due to the narrowness of the running path and safety concerns. Headphones are not encouraged, but if you do decide to use them, please keep the volume at a low level so you can hear other runners and instructions from course officials (especially at traffic intersections). All runners are expected to practice proper running etiquette. Our hope is that all participants have a safe and enjoyable experience.
